8. Tips for getting published with your press release at Google News

Tip #1:Use a suitable keyword in the title of your press release

Having a suitable keyword in your article headline is the single most important ranking factor at Google News.

Tip #2: Publish current press releases

Google News prefers to show up recently published articles.

Tip #3: Ensure that your press release fits to the content factors

Google News prefers great articles written in a high quality. Content factors for ranking at Google News are esp.:

  • Headline max. 110 chars
  • Articles with at least 80 words in one paragraph (!), not too long and not too many backlinks in the text. Google News does not like short sentences / paragraphs.
  • Do not post one single sentence or word in every row of your press release
  • Google News does not like posting a table of content in your press release because it looks like spam.
  • Ensure that your text is written coherent.
  • Image (min. 1200px)
